A Mill Operator sets up and operates tools used in the production process of the rolling mill operations. Below are some daily functions of a Mill Operator. 

• Operate machinery used in the production process.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected, and notify shift leader, maintenance or other supervisors.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
• Document daily paperwork and turn in to shift leader as required
• Mark or tag identification on product accurately.
• Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment
• Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
• Clean, lubricate and maintain equipment.
