Electrical Integrator - PLC Conversions - OKC, OK

SUMMARY:

The Electrical Integrator is responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning PLC-based control systems for industrial automation applications. This role focuses on upgrading and converting outdated control systems to modern PLC platforms, ensuring seamless integration with existing electrical and mechanical systems.

What we are looking for: 

Someone who can set their own pace, work in a team environment, and build productive relationships by solving problems. Experience in the steel manufacturing industry is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  1. PLC System Conversion & Integration
    • Assess existing control systems and develop migration plans for PLC upgrades.
    • Convert legacy PLC programs (e.g., from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.) to modern platforms.
    • Ensure compatibility of new PLCs with existing industrial equipment.
  2. Electrical System Design & Implementation
    • Develop wiring schematics, panel layouts, and system architecture using CAD software.
    • Select and specify control system components such as relays, sensors, HMIs, and VFDs.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., NFPA 79, IEC 61131).
  3. PLC & HMI Programming
    • Develop and modify PLC logic, ladder diagrams, and structured text programs.
    • Program and configure HMI/SCADA systems for operator interfaces.
    • Perform troubleshooting and debugging of PLC and automation systems.
  4. Testing & Commissioning
    • Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
    • Oversee system installation, wiring verification, and commissioning.
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical and automation issues.
  5. Project Documentation & Support
    • Maintain detailed documentation of PLC programs, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
    • Train end-users and maintenance personnel on new control systems.
    • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed systems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in PLC programming, conversions, and industrial automation.
  • Proficiency with PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Omron).
  • Experience with electrical schematics, panel design, and industrial networking.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in industrial automation.
