SUMMARY:

The Galvanizing Helper plays a vital role in supporting the galvanizing process by assisting with the preparation, handling, and treatment of materials to ensure the efficient and safe application of zinc coating to steel products. This position involves assisting in the operation of galvanizing equipment, preparing materials for coating, and performing quality checks to ensure finished products meet industry standards. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, able to work in a fast-paced industrial environment, and possess a strong commitment to ensuring the quality and efficiency of the galvanizing process.

What we are looking for: 

Someone who can set their own pace, work in a team environment, and build productive relationships by solving problems. Experience in manufacturing or steel industry is a plus, but we are willing to train someone with relatable skills. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

· Load and unload products into galvanizing tanks and other equipment, following specific procedures to prevent contamination or damage.

· Monitor the galvanizing process to ensure proper coating thickness and consistency, reporting any issues to the supervisor.

· Assist with the inspection of galvanized products to check for defects, proper coating, and overall quality.

· Help in the maintenance of galvanizing tanks, equipment, and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.

· Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following safety procedures and regularly cleaning work areas and equipment.

· Adhere to all safety regulations and wear the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) while working around high-temperature equipment and chemicals.

· Assist in the packaging and handling of finished galvanized products for shipment or storage.

· Support the team in maintaining production goals, ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime.

· Perform basic preventive maintenance on galvanizing equipment, including cleaning, oiling, or replacing minor parts.

· Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors to maintain smooth workflow and resolve any issues that may arise during the galvanizing process.

· Follow all company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements related to galvanizing and safety.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma preferred, and related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and be willing and able to operate a motor vehicle and pass a company drug screen.
