SUMMARY:

The Shipping Checker is responsible for verifying and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all outgoing shipments. This includes checking orders against packing lists, inspecting packages for proper labeling and secure packaging, and coordinating with warehouse and logistics staff to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

What we are looking for: 

Someone who can set their own pace, work in a team environment, and build productive relationships by solving problems. Experience in manufacturing or steel industry is a plus, but we are willing to train someone with relatable skills. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

·  Verify the accuracy of shipping and receiving documents (e.g., Bills of Lading, packing slips, manifests).

·  Check load counts, seal numbers, and trailer conditions with CDL drivers.

·  Document inbound and outbound shipments in tracking logs or warehouse management systems (WMS).

·  Accurately enter shipment details into databases or spreadsheets.

·  File and maintain shipping records for compliance and auditing purposes.

·  Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, and warehouse personnel.

·  Identify and report shipment discrepancies, damages, or shortages.

·  Assist with scheduling pickups and coordinating loading dock times.

·  Maintain clean and organized shipping/receiving areas.

·  Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma preferred, and related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and be willing and able to operate a motor vehicle and pass a company drug screen.
